The editorial board is responsible for putting laying together the goals and objectives of IJSR. The International Editorial Board consists of approximately 50 expert individuals who are solely committed to the exploration for high-quality research papers that are suitable for publication in the IJSR. These key individuals will work with the editor to achieve objectives of IJSR, execute the editorial responsibilities of the IJSR, contribute and encourage developers to contribute articles, publicize and advertise for the IJSR, periodically review four to six articles per year and one theme issue to assess their quality, relevance, and readability. Contribute at least one submission to IJSR or its BLOG. Additionally, members of the Editorial Board will also vote on the selection of high quality papers. Ash Mohammad Abbas received his B.Sc. Engineering in Computer Engineering in 1994 and M.Sc. Engineering in Communication and Information Systems in 1996, both from Aligarh Muslim University Aligarh, India. He received his Ph.D. in 2006 in the area of Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India. Currently, He is an Associate Professor at Department of Computer Engineering, Aligarh Muslim University, India. He is a member of editorial review boards of many scholarly journals. He has been an active reviewer of reputed conferences and journals. He is a Senior Member of IEEE Computer and Communication Societies. His current research interests include Computer Networks (Mobile Ad hoc Networks, Sensor Networks, Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing, Communication Software, Peer-to-Peer Computing, Web Information Retrieval, etc.)
Ajith Abraham received Ph.D. degree from Monash University, Australia. He works as a Professor under the South Korean Government's Institute of Information Technology Advancement (IITA) program. His primary research interests are in computational intelligence with an application focus including network security, Web services, Web intelligence, multi criteria decision-making, data mining etc. He has authored/co-authored over 300 research publications in peer reviewed reputed journals, book chapters and conference proceedings of which five have won 'best paper' awards. He has given several plenary talks and conference tutorials. He is the editor-in-chief / co-editor in chief of three international scientific journals and also serves the editorial board of several reputed International journals. He has guest edited 21 special issues for International scientific journals. Since 2001, he is actively involved in the Hybrid Intelligent Systems (HIS) and the Intelligent Systems Design and Applications (ISDA) series of International conferences. Shawkat K. Guirguis is a professor of Computer Science and Informatics at Institute of Graduate Studies & Research (IGSR), Alexandria University, Egypt. His research includes content based image retrieval, GIS based intelligent decision support systems, software reusability and intelligent agents. He has been practicing, teaching and researching for over twenty six years. He has been acting as the head of information technology department for more than 3 years before joining Al-Hussein Bin Talal university, Jordan as on loan basis. For two years, he has been admitted to Imperial College for Science and Technology, London as part of his research activities. He joined the research teams studying theoritical air pollution in the immediate aftermath of Chernobyl reactor accident. He has conducted numerous post experience courses and supervised a number of PhD and MSc students. He also participated in and joined organization of a number of conferences. He also participated in teaching in the Arab Academy for Science and Technology (AAST) for seventeen successive years and has been a member in Alexandria Institute of Technology (AIT) since its establishment. He also acted as the Quality Assurance Manager for eight years at EEAA/EIMP in the project funded by DANIDA for air quality monitoring in Alexandria and Delta regions. He participated in the development of the courses curricula of graduate studies in Alexandria University. Alok Mishra is Associate Professor of Computer and Software Engineering at Atilim University, Ankara Turkey. He had his Ph.D. in Computer Science (Software Engineering) besides dual Masters in Computer Science & Applications and Human Resource Management. His areas of interest and research are software engineering, information system, information & knowledge management and object oriented analysis & design. He had extensive experience of distance and online education related to computers and management courses. He has published articles, book chapters and book-reviews related to software engineering and information system in refereed journals, books and conferences including International Journal of Information Management, Government Information Quarterly, IET-Software, Behaviour and Information Technology, Public Personnel Management, European Journal of Engineering Education, International Journal of Information Technology and Management. Shereef Abu Al Maati received his B.S. degree in Computer Science from the American University, Washington DC in 1984, and the M.S. as well as the PhD degree in Computer Science from the Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Florida, in 1987 & 1998 respectively. Since 2004 Shereef joined the newly established American University of Kuwait, jointly affiliated with Dartmouth College New Hampshire, as an assistant professor of Computer Science and is currently the Chair of the Computer Science, Information Systems and the Sciences Division. In 2006 Shereef and a group of senior executive leaders jointly collaborated and held a week long colloquium with the JF Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, on major challenges for educational reform in the state of Kuwait. Prior to joining AUK Shereef was an Assistant professor in computer science at the State University of West Georgia from 2000-2004, followed by a summer visiting professor in 2004 at John Hopkins University. Prior to joining academia in 2000, Shereef worked in industry for several years, as researcher at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific researcher, were in 1998-2000, Shereef was the Principle Investigator for designing and developing a distributed thin client, real time internet based financial trading system prototype for the Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE). Prior to that he worked as a Software Engineer working jointly with IBM, Martin Marietta and the US Navy on a large on-line management Information System for the Kuwait Air Force, “Kuwait Operational Readiness System”, one system among a family of other subsystem for the Air Force. Prior to that Shereef interned at the National Institute of Health, in Bethesda Maryland. Shereef’ has published numerous papers in the broad area of Software Engineering as well as Computer Science Education.
Abdel-Badeh M Salem He is a professor of Computer Science and Vice Dean of Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Ain Shams University, Cairo-Egypt, from 1996 to present. He was a professor of Computer Science at Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University from 1989 to 1996. He was a Director of Scientific Computing Center at Ain Shams University (1984-1990). His research includes intelligent computing, expert systems, medical informatics, and intelligent e-learning technologies. He has published around 170 papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings in these areas. He has been involved in more than 120 conferences and workshops as an Int. Program Committee and Session Chair. He is author and co-author of 15 Books in English and Arabic Languages. He was one of the founders of the following events, First Egyptian Workshop on Expert Systems 1987, Int. Cairo Conference on Artificial Intelligence Applications in 1992 and Int. Adel Ali Al-Jumaily is a senior lecture in Computer, ICT and software systems under Mechatronics and Intelligent Systems, Faculty of Engineering, University of Technology Sydney, Australia. He has track record as researcher, and team player in fields of artificial intelligent systems, embedded and intelligent systems applications, health technology, and computer systems engineering. He has published over 50 refereed articles in these areas. He has contributed to creating many novel algorithms that include multi agent systems and had published a book chapter for a new concept of multi agent systems and it applications. This concept is used in intelligent systems research area. He has a contribution to fuzzy blending behaviours theory by suggesting a new method called degree of importance and had published many papers about this method. In intelligent autonomous systems side, he developed an algorithm for multi-agent system that performs exploration and target seeking autonomously that used bidding scheme that was applied to obtain assistance and cooperation between the agents, and a novel algorithm base of behaviours and distributed intelligence to achieving of static and dynamic goals completion through agent negotiation had developed in other work. In health applications, he proposed a new concept using multi agent for estimation of cardiovascular parameters, a new model to estimate mean blood pressure by heart rate with stroke volume changing influence, algorithm for continuous measurement of oxygen saturation level using photoplethysmography (PPG) signal, modified algorithm of practical swarm optimization (PSO) based stroke volume influence on mean arterial pressure, and blood pressure estimation by particle swarm optimization (PSO). He is developing a new approach for data mining and software model behaviour for myoelectric control of prosthetic devices for rehabilitation. He worked in developing algorithms for human localizations based on soft computing. His research has been recognized through my publications and through invitations as a visiting scholar in School of Information Technologies at University of Sydney for the last two years. Dr. Al-Jumaily has appointed as a visiting scholar in School of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of New South Wales, and Biomedical Computing Research Group at Coventry University (U.K.) in 2005. He is serving as Editor board member of International Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems. He has been invited to serve as a chairman of session at four international conferences, served as member of organizing committee of three Conferences, and as member of technical program committee and reviewer at four international conferences. He served as reviewer for many Journal articles in the field and many international conferences. Adel is a member of Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence in Autonomous Systems (CAS).
Moataz Ahmed is currently the Chief Technology Officer, LEROS Technologies Corporation, and its subsidiary, SONEX Enterprises, Inc., Fairfax, Virginia. He has been the principal investigator and the architect for the SONEX’s government projects related to the R&D of intelligent agent technology for the next generation C3I systems; the continuous early system validation environment, the independent/integrated system assurance software tool suite, and NASA lessons learned process integration. He is also responsible for providing direction of the process, methodology, and technology adopted for the development of LEROS' proprietary reuse technological infrastructure and commercial products; Dr. Ahmed has been serving as a university professor in a number of institutes in the US as well as overseas to include George Mason University, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, and the Arab Academy for Science and Technology. He is currently involved in a joint research project with the University of Milan too. His teaching interests include Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering. He worked as a software architect in several software houses. His research interests include soft computing based software engineering especially software testing, software reuse, and cost estimation; software metrics and quality models; and case-based reasoning and experience reuse within the context of decision making. He has supervised a number of theses and published a number of technical papers in refereed journals and conferences in these areas. Dr. Ahmed has been a referee for a number of technical journals and conferences. He served as a guest editor of the Information Sciences Journal in more than one occasion. Dr. Ahmed is a member of a number of professional associations. He was classified as Outstanding Researcher by the US INS.
MAGDY ABOUL-ELA is a professor of computer science at Sadat Academy for Management Sciences from March 2007 to present, and was an associate professor from 2000 to 2007, and an assistant professor from 1995-2000. He was also a Scientist at IBM – Bergen Scientific Center, Norway, from 1991-1994, and IBM – Kuwait Scientific Center from 1988-1990. He has many years of consulting and software development experience. Prof. Aboul-Ela received an MS and a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Information from Cairo University, and his research fields were Intelligent Systems. Aboul-Ela has applied research experience in Artificial Intelligence fields concerned with knowledge based Systems, Natural Language Processing, eLearning & Intelligent Tutoring System, Intelligent Problem Solving, Information Extraction, Semantic Web, Neural Networks, and Multi-Agents Systems. Aboul-Ela designed and developed for IBM a Grammar Writing Language (GWL) for Arabic language, OO Model for Air Pollution Monitoring System, Environmental Data Catalogue, and Expert System for Art History. In addition, he has done for other organizations a Geo-Technical Expert System (GES), a Statutory Reasoning System for Environment Law, and an Intelligent Tutoring System for Algebra.
Athina Lazakidou currently works at the University of Piraeus, Greece as a teaching assistant, and at the Hellenic Army Academy & Hellenic Naval Academy, Greece as a visiting lecturer in informatics. Prior to that, she worked as a visiting lecturer at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Cyprus (2000-2002). She did her undergraduate studies at the Athens University of Economics and Business (Greece) and received her BSc in Computer Science in 1996. In 2000, she received her Ph.D. in Medical Informatics from the Department of Medical Informatics, University Hospital Benjamin Franklin at the Free University of Berlin, Germany. She is also an internationally known expert in the field of computer applications in healthcare and biomedicine, with six books and numerous papers to her credit. She was also Editor of the “Handbook of Research on Informatics in Healthcare and Biomedicine” and the “Handbook of Research on Distributed Medical Informatics and E-Health”. Her research interests include health informatics, e-Learning in medicine, software engineering, graphical user interfaces, (bio)medical databases, clinical decision support systems, analysis and design of hospital and clinical information systems, electronic medical record systems, telematics, and other applications in medicine. Candela Leonardo is a researcher at Networked Multimedia Information Systems (NMIS) Laboratory of the Institute of Information Science and Technologies - Italian National Research Council (ISTI - CNR). He graduated in Computer Science in 2001 at University of Pisa and completed a Ph.D. in Information Engineering in 2006 at University of Pisa. In 2001 he joined the NMIS Laboratory and was involved in the CYCLADES (http://www.ercim.org/cyclades) and Open Archives Forum (www.oaforum.org) projects. He is currently involved in the DILIGENT (http://www.diligentproject.org) and DRIVER (http://www.driver-repository.eu) projects and he is an active member of the DELOS (http://www.delos.info) working group on the Digital Library Reference Model (http://www.delos.info/ReferenceModel). He is member of the OAI-ORE (http://www.openarchives.org/ore/) Liaison Group. CHERIF Adnen was born in Tunis at october 1st, 1963. He obtained his Engineering diploma in 1987 his Master degree in 1990 and his PHD in 1996 in Electrical and informatics Engineering speciality. Actually he is a professor at the Science Faculty of Tunis, the responsable of the master study degrees. Besides he is the director of a research laboratory and leads more than 12 doctorate thesis & 13 Masters . He is the author or the co-author of more than 15 \ publications in international journals and more than 55 papers in international congress and conferences. He was a scientific member and a reviewer of several international journals and congress. Finally he participated in several cooperation projects (MEDCAMPUS, FICU, CMCU, AUF....)
Ching-Hsien Hsu received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Tung Hai University and Feng Chia University, Taiwan, in 1995 and 1999, respectively. He is currently a faculty of the department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at Chung Hua University, Taiwan. His research interests include Parallel and distributed computing, Cloud / grid computing, P2P computing, Pervasive computing, Services computing, RFID and smart homes. Dr. Hsu has published more than 130 referred papers in journals, books and conference proceedings. He is serving in a number of journal editorial boards, including International Journal of Communication Systems, International Journal of Computational Science, International Journal of Grid and High Performance Computing, International Journal of Smart Home and International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Engineering, etc. He has edited more than 25 international journal special issues as a guest editor, such as IEEE Transactions on Services Computing, Future Generation Computer Systems, Journal of Supercomputing, Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience, The Knowledge Engineering Review, Internet Research, Information System Frontiers, etc. Dr. Hsu has directed and participated in many research/development projects funded by National Science Council, Monistry of Education, National Center for High Performance Computing and Chung Hua University. Under the funds of National Science Council, he organized the 1st / 2nd Russia-Taiwan Symposium on Methods and Tools and Parallel Programming Multi-computers as one of founders in 2007 and 2010, respectively. Based on the Intelligent Systems and Smart Home vision, he founded the annually International Workshop on Intelligent Systems and Smart Homes (WISH), 2007 in Canada, 2008 in Australia and 2009 in Taiwan. He has severed many international conferences as steering committee, advisory committee, various chairs and committee members. Dr. Hsu is a member of Phi Tau Phi honor society and IEEE senior member; he serves as an executive committee of IEEE Technical Committee on Scalable Computing (TCSC) and the executive secretary of Taiwan Associaton of Grid Computing (TAGC). He was awarded as annual outstanding researchers by Chung Hua University in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and earned distinguished research award in 2008. .
Cornelia Boldyreff have over 25 years experience in Software Engineering and have been a Professor of Software Engineering at Lincoln since January 2004 where I lead the Distributed Software Engineering group. My own research spans both distributed systems and software engineering. My recent research has been focused on collaborative software development within the Framework 5GEneralised eNvironment for procEsS management in cooperative Software Engineering (GENESIS) project and the EPSRC Collaborative Determination, Elaboration and Evolution of Design Spaces (CoDEEDS), on collaborative learning via the Grid within the LeGE-WG project, and on system evolution within the Web Site Evolution project. My group developed the Open Source Component Artefact Respository within GENESIS and developed support for collaborative design teams within CoDEEDS. Cooper Kendra received her Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2001 from The University of British Columbia and has over 70 peer reviewed publications in journals, conferences, symposia, and workshops. She has worked in the early phases of the software development lifecycle for over 10 years in industrial and academic settings. In industry, Dr. Cooper worked on defining and maintaining the requirements and architecture for a variety of complex, large-scale systems including a project management, air traffic control, and the core network for a wireless GPRS system. Her research interests center on investigating re-use and modularization techniques, including component based, aspect-oriented, and product line engineering, with a focus on the requirements engineering and software architecture. She has served on over 40 program committees and is a member of two editorial boards for journals. Heung Seok Chae received the BS degree in nuclear engineering from Seoul National University in 1994, the MS and PhD degrees in computer science from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 1996 and 2000, respectively. He worked as a senior consultant for the TongYang Systems between 2000 and 2002. During the year of 2003, he was as a visiting professor in the Department of Computer Science at KAIST. Since 2004, he has been on the faculty of the Department of Computer Engineering, Pusan National University, Busan, Korea. Current research interests include: object-oriented analysis and design; object-oriented frameworks; component-based software development; software architecture; software metrics/measurement; software testing, software maintenance. Issam W. Damaj received his Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Computer Engineering from Beirut Arab University in 1999 (with high distinction), and his Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Computer and Communications Engineering from the American University of Beirut in 2001. He was awarded his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from London South Bank University, London, United Kingdom in 2004. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Dhofar University, Oman. His research interests include hardware/software co-design, embedded systems design, reconfigurable computing, computer interfacing applications, parallel processing, engineering formal methods, and software engineering. Beside many scientific papers and journal articles he is a continuous speaker on numerous conferences and scientific events. He has been a member of several international conferences program committees. He has several invited honors including Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who in Science and Engineering. He is a Member of the IEEE and IEE professional organizations, and the order of Engineers in Beirut.

Prof.) at The Open University (the British distance university in Milton Keynes near London), having previously lead the Competence Center for IT-Security, Software & Systems Engineering, TU Munich (Germany).Doctor of Philosophy in Computing from the University of Oxford and author of "Secure Systems Development with UML" (Springer, 2004), "IT Security" (Springer, forthcoming), and various publications on computer security and safety and software engineering. Jungwoo Ryoo is an Assistant Professor in Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State Altoona, Pennsylvania. His main research interests include information assurance and security, software engineering, and networking. More specifically, he is interested in software security, network/cyber security, security management particularly in small and medium-sized organizations, software architecture, Architecture Description Languages (ADLs), object-oriented software development, formal methods, and requirements engineering. He has a significant industry experience (Sprint and IBM) in architecting and implementing secure, high-performance software for large-scale network management systems. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Kansas in 2005. K.Chandra Sekaran is a Professor of Computer Engineering at National Institute of Technology Karnataka, India. His research includes Computer Networks, Dependable Network / Distributed computing, Autonomic computing and Community Informatics. He has 20 years of teaching and research and one year Industry experience. He has published more than 86 publications in International and National proceedings and authored two books, three book chapters. He was the Organizing Chair of 14th International Conference ADCOM 2006, International Symposium on Ad Hoc and Ubiquitous Computing ISAHUC'06.He also serverd as a member of PC in various International conferences, reviewer in many Journals. Pedro Soto-Acosta holds a Ph.D in MIS (with European Ph.D mention) and a Master’s in Technology Management from University of Murcia. He received his BA in Business Administration from University of Murcia and his BA in Accounting & Finance in Europe from Manchester Metropolitan University (UK). He has participated in the Leonardo da Vinci Programme in Bradford (UK) and attended Postgraduate courses at Harvard University (USA). Pedro Soto has published in prestigious International Journals such as European Journal of Information Systems, International Journal of Information Management, International Journal of Electronic Business and Journal of Enterprise Information Management, among others. His work has won Research Awards such as the 2006 ABG Award to Research and Business Spirit and the Best Research Paper Award at Information Systems One World 2007 (ISoneWorld 2007), held in Las Vegas (USA). Maria João Ferreira is a Professor of Information Systems at the Innovation, Science and Technology Department at the Universidade Portucalense, Porto, Portugal. She is also a researcher at Universidade Portucalense. She graduated in Applied Mathematics and Computation, from Universidade Portucalense and received a MSc (1993) and a PhD (2003) degree in Computation from UMIST – University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology - Manchester, UK. Currently, she teaches subjects in the area of Information Systems and Requirements Engineering at undergraduate and master level as well as supervises final year undergraduate and MSc students. She is member of the INSTICC- Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication and the EDGE - an Investigation Center on Management Studies. He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow, India in 1998 and an MBA in Information Systems from State University of New York, Buffalo, NY, USA in 2003. He is also a PhD candidate at State University of New York, Buffalo. He has more than a decade of experience in information systems, policies and technologies. He has published 3 books in the area of information security, ethics and assurance including Managing information Assurance in Financial Services (publisher: Idea Group Inc.). He has published more than 20 research articles in leading journals, conference proceedings and books including DSS, ACM Transactions, IEEE and JOEUC. He has reviewed papers for more than 20 journals and conferences. He serves in editorial boards of International Journal of Electronic banking and International Journal of Liability and Scientific Enquiry (IJLSE) and has served in program committees of several international conferences. He holds several professional designations including CISSP, CISA, CISM, ISSPCS and PMP. He has also received advanced certificates in information assurance (SUNY, Buffalo), IT Benchmarking (Stanford University) and cyber law (Asian School of Cyber Law). Matjaz B. Juric holds a Ph.D. in computer and information science and is an Associate Professor at the University of Maribor. Matjaz has authored or co-authored the following books: Best Practices for SOA-based Integration and Composite Applications Development, Business Process Execution Language for Web Services (Packt Publishing), J2EE Design Patterns Applied, Professional J2EE EAI, and Professional EJB (Wrox Press, part of Wiley Publishing), and has published a chapter in More Java Gems (Cambridge University Press) and Technology Supporting Business Solutions (Nova Science Publishers). He has published in journals and magazines, such as Web Services Journal, eai Journal, Java Developer's Journal, Java Report, Java World, ACM journals, Elsevier Journals, and presented at conferences such as OOPSLA, XML Europe, Oracle Open World, SIGS Java Development, BEA Forums, Wrox Conferences, SCI, and others. He has had several invited talks on conferences and events, such as IBM SOA Executive Event 2006, SIOUG 2006, etc. His bibliography has more than 300 entries. Matjaz has been involved in several large-scale IT projects. In cooperation with the IBM Java Technology Centre, he worked on performance analysis and optimization in RMI-IIOP development, an integral part of the Java 2 Platform. He is consultant for several large companies, including telco providers, power distribution companies, etc. Matjaz is also the head of Science Park of University of Maribor. Aamer Nadeem is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Islamabad, Pakistan. His research interests include software reliability, model and specification based software testing, software fault tolerance, safety-critical systems and formal methods. He has published 25+ papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings in the areas of software testing, fault-tolerance, and formal methods. He has also served as program committee member of several international workshops and conferences. Dr. Nadeem earned his PhD in computer science from Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Islamabad, MS in software engineering from National University of Science and Technology (Pakistan), and MSc in computer science from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. He has 20 years of research and industrial experience.
Eyas El-Qawasmeh received his B.Sc. degree in Computer Science in 1985 from Yarmouk University, Jordan. He then joined the Yarmouk University as teaching assistant in the Computer Science Department. In 1992, he joined the George Washington University, Washington, D.C., USA where he obtained his MS and Ph.D. degrees in Software and Systems in 1994 and 1997, respectively. In 2001, he joined George Washington University, USA as visiting researcher through a Fulbright Commission grant. In 2001, he won Hijjawi research prize for Computer Science (best computer research for 2001 in Jordan and Palestine). His areas of interest include Multimedia Databases, Information Retrieval, and Object-Oriented. He has authored/co-authored over 70 research publications in peer reviewed reputed journals, chapters and conference proceedings. El-Qawasmeh is currently an associate professor in the department of the Computer Science at Jordan University of Science and Technology, Jordan. He is the program chair for the following conferences: 4th International multi-conference on Computer Science and Information Technology, Jordan, 2006, and 1st International Conference on Digital Communications and Computer Applications, Jordan, 2007. He is a member of the editorial board of 5 different journals. He is a member of the ACM and IEEE. Philippe Roose was PhD Student from 1997 to 2000,. En December 2000, he obtained his PhD with oral felicitations of the jury. In September 2001, he was recruited as associate professor by competition in the University of “Pau et les Pays de l’Adour” and was accepted as member of the LIUPPA, the public research laboratory of the university. From 1998 to 2000, he obtained a ‘special’ grant of the ‘Conseil Général des Pyrénées Atlantiques’. Since 2005, he has been elected as the Scientific Council of his University. In December 2006, he obtained the ‘PEDR’ which is a financial bonus of the French government for people that put enough effort in their research work. Since September 2006, he is the responsible of a French national project supported by the French National Research Agency (ANR-CNRS) for an amount of 126 K€ for three years. These works are also supported by the Aquitaine Region Council, for an amount of 16,2 K€ This project permits to engage an engineer for three years implementing prototypes our propositions (practical aspects). His research includes Wireless Sensors, Software Architectures for Distributed Multimedia Applications, Software Components, Quality of Services, Dynamic reconfiguration, COTS, Distributed Software Platform. Philippe Roose is also involved in international teaching collaborations. He was invited to give courses in Cuba (05/2004, 05/2005) and Chile (01/2006) where he created (with administrative and pedagogical tasks) a double-diploma (French-Chilean) since January 2006. He is also responsible of the Multimedia Department of the IUT of Bayonne since September 2006. This department includes three technical diplomas in computer science and multimedia management, plus the co-diploma with Chile. The international reconnaissance appears with several invitations to be included into program committee of international conferences/workshops and to be reviewer for international journals. In 2005, he published a book on the history of micro-computers. Saud Maghrabi is a Full Professor of Computer Science at Umm Al-Qura University, Saudi Arabia, from 2002 to present. He is currently Secretary of the Academic Council, Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. He was Vice Dean of Computer and Information Systems College from 2006- 2008, Chairperson of the Computer Science Department from 2001- 2005. and Vice Dean Institute of Science Research at Umm Al-Qura University from 1998- 2000. He was Director General of Computer Center at the same University from 1990-1995. He has 22 years of academic experience in Computer Science. Prof. Maghrabi's research interests are on Algorithms and data structures, Database systems, Internet development, Artificial intelligent, Software engineering, Formal languages and parsing, Computer graphics. He has published around 100 papers in refereed journals, conference proceedings and book chapters in these areas. He has taught about 17 courses related to these areas. Prof. Maghrabi earned his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Hull University, and his MS degree in Computer Science from Liverpool University (UK). He has been involved in more than 60 conferences and workshops as a program/general conference chair. He is serving as an editorial boards for 3 international journals. He is a member of AAAS, ACM, and IEEE.
Selmin NURCAN obtained her engineer degree in computer sciences at INSA-Lyon (National Institute of Applied Sciences) in 1986. She joined then the Information Systems Engineering Research Centre where she received her PhD in computer sciences in 1991 and worked on knowledge representation and CSCW till 1995. She is currently associate professor at IAE de Paris – University Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne and researcher at CRI (Centre de REcherche en Informatique). Her research activities include enterprise modelling, enterprise architecture and business/IT alignment, process (re)engineering, change modelling, cooperative IS engineering and business process management. She has an extensive teaching experience in the areas of enterprise computing, information systems and ICT, including enterprise knowledge development, organizational change modeling, business process and workflow engineering, CSCW, IS engineering and project management. She actively participated to the development of EKD-CMM, a multi-method for defining the organizational change and more generally for guiding the engineering activities for enterprise modelling and business/system alignment. She currently works on intention driven modelling formalisms in order to measure their ability to represent adaptive and flexible business processes (intra or inter enterprises). She is interested to the enhancement of IS engineering methods aiming to anticipate business/IS alignment and IS governance requirements. She is author or co-author of 80 research papers , co-president of the ECI (Communicating Enterprise and Interoperability) Working Group of the National Research Associations GDR I3 and GDR MACS of CNRS, co-organizer of the 8 th Workshop on Business Process Modelling, Development, and Support (BPMDS'07) , co-chair of the BPM Track (Business Process Management) during the four last editions of the IRMA (Information Resources Management Association) International Conference and an active member of the French Association of Process Pilots. She supervised 19 research and 84 professional master thesis since 1995. She is acting as a program committee member of a number of international and national conferences and she is serving on the editorial board of International Journal of Innovation and Learning and on the editorial advisory board of the Advances in End-User Computing Book Series. Isabel Seruca is an Associate Professor and a Researcher at the Innovation, Science and Computation Department of Portucalense University, Porto, Portugal and an Invited Associate Professor at University of Aveiro, Portugal, where she teaches subjects in the areas of Information Systems and Programming.She graduated in Applied Mathematics and Computation at Portucalense University and she has an MSc (1993) and a PhD (2003) degree both in Computation from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). She is a member of the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC) and EDGE, a research unit in management sciences institutionally hosted by the Faculty of Economics of Porto (FEP) of University of Porto (UP).Her research interests are in the Information Systems area, namely in topics such as Requirements Engineering, Method Engineering, Domain Analysis and Patterns. She is a member of several program committees of international conferences and workshops, a co-editor of books and conference proceedings in Enterprise Information Systems and she has published several papers in refereed conferences and journals in the areas of Domain Analysis, Reuse and Patterns.
Sergio B. Villas-Boas is a University Professor, dedicated to teaching C++, Java, OO, XML, GUI and other information technologies. The materials of his courses are of free use and can be downloaded from his web site at www.sbvb.com.br. After the Ph.D. in Chiba University (Japan), and MBA in knowledge management and economic intelligence, Villas-Boas shares his time between the University and consultancy with private firms. In the period of 2001~2006, helped www.selectos.net develop an editorial system (using C++, Java, CORBA and other technologies). The experience of working with Selectors made Villas-Boas become an entrepreneur in software. Since 2007 is working together with 2 private firms on development of cross-platform video-conference software. Together with the private firms and University students, we are defining a new method for management of software development; this is called “Applied Agile Software Development”. This method is a comprehensive set of procedures that are very applicable and productive. Villas-Boas also developed some open-source cross-platform C++ libraries, such as VBLib plus (available in sourceforge.net).
Levent Yilmaz is assistant professor of Computer Science and Software Engineering in the College of Engineering at Auburn University. Prior to joining faculty in 2003, he was a senior research engineer in the Simulation and Software Division of Trident Systems Incorporated, in Fairfax, Virginia, where he worked as a lead project engineer and principle investigator for advanced simulation methodology development, model-based verification, and simulation interoperability efforts. Dr. Yilmaz earned his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech). His research focuses on Component-based software engineering, Advancing the theory and methodology of simulation modeling via novel formalisms (e.g., multi models, multi simulation) and their use in decision support systems, Improving the theory and methodology of agent-directed simulation for applications in socio-cybernetics, organizational complexity and dynamics (e.g., software project and process modeling and simulation), cognitive engineering and decision making (e.g., human/team behavior), and Improving cognition in modeling and design education. Dr. Yilmaz is a member of ACM, IEEE Computer Society, Society for Computer Simulation International (SCS - http://www.scs.org), and Upsilon Pi Epsilon. Dr. Yilmaz has served as the secretary of SCS during 2004-2006, and he is elected by the members of the Society for Modeling Simulation International to its board of directors for the 2006-2008 biennium. He also serves as an advisor to Workforce Development Committee of the Alabama Modeling and Simulation Council (http://www.amsc.to). Liguo Yu received his PhD degree in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University in 2004. He is an assistant professor at Computer Science and Informatics Department, Indiana University South. Before joining IUSB, he was a visiting assistant professor at Tennessee Tech University. His research interests include software dependency, software maintenance, software reuse, software testing, software management, empirical software engineering and open-source development.
David Rine earned his PhD from the University of Iowa in 1970. David Rine has been practicing, teaching and researching engineered software development for over thirty years. Prior to joining George Mason University he served in various leadership roles in the IEEE Computer Society and co-founded two of the technical committees. He joined George Mason University in 1985 and was the founding chair of the Department of Computer Science and one of the founders of the (Volgenau) School of Information Technology and Engineering. Rine has received numerous research, teaching and service awards from computer science and engineering societies and associations, including the IEEE Centennial Award, the IEEE Pioneer Award, the IEEE Computer Society Meritorious Service Awards, the IEEE Computer Society Special Awards, and the IEEE Computer Society 50th anniversary Golden Core Award, the historical IEEE Computer Society Honor Roll and Distinguished Technical Services Awards. He has been a pioneer in graduate, undergraduate and high school education, producing computer science texts and leading establishment of the international Advanced Placement Computer Science program for the nation's high school students, co-designer the first computer science and engineering curriculum (1976) and the first masters in software engineering curriculum (1978). He has been an editor of a number of prestigious software-oriented journals. During his tenure he has authored over 300 published works and has directed many PhD students. Complementing his work at GMU, he has worked on many international technology and relief projects in various countries and made many life-long international friendships. His past students are the most important record of his technical achievements.
