Associate editors/columnists will edit and proofread a large volume of IJSR columns and write position papers and/or column bits.  They are solely responsible for spelling, grammar, AP style, accuracy, taste, consistency and clarity of their articles.

 

Image Michael F. Alexander holds degrees in electrical engineering, business administration (USC) and economics (University of Vienna). He is a lecturer at the Department of Information Systems, Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien (WU). His professional experience includes education and product management at IBM, Siemens, Nortel Networks and Alcatel. Prior to WU, he was Product Line Manager for Alcatel ADSL and Optical Access Networks. He is the author of many publications and presently co-editor of a book on process algebra to be published by Chapman&Hall in 2008.  Dr. Alexander served as editorial board member, program committee member and reviewer for a number of international conferences and journals and is workshop series chair of XHPC. His current research interests are in formal methods, network management, concurrency, payment systems, machine learning methods, software product lines and e-learning.  He is a member of IEEE and ACM.

Image Chowdhury S P joined Jadavpur University as Lecturer in 1993 and was promoted to Reader in 1998. He has co-authored three books and over 120 technical papers in power systems. He has visited various countries, universities for participating in technical activities, conferences. SP is a Fellow of IE(I), IETE(I) and Member of IEEE(USA), CSI(I). He is an active executive committee member of IETE(I) and CSI(I).  As a member of IET M&RB and Finance Committee, he has profusely enhanced professional and promotional activities in India. SP is working hard in close coordination between volunteers and staff in various boards and committees with Nick, Max, Fred, Keith, CSChang, Chris, Nicos, Clara, Peter, Brian, Jim, Nigel, Jon, Norman, Barry and many other active volunteers for bilateral addition of values and services of IET. It was SP who ignited the feeling of presence of The IEE in India through a major successful international conference PEITSICON-2005 in Kolkata at his leadership. SP’s encouraging initiative has made the IET volunteers in India quite enthusiastic to organise a series of forthcoming international conferences in Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata. The  YMS-India is now fully inspired and ready to initiate  activities in India. “Having made the presence of IEE and IET prominent in India by initiating huge professional and promotional activities, and been encouraged by the enthusiasm of upcoming members and volunteers, I am keen to make IET a more  attractive and valued global organisation, indispensable to members, academia, industry, regulatory bodies and government. I will continue to apply an inclusive member-staff-team approach to all activities.  I will represent global members’ interest and push the Council to take quite active role in charitable work to utilise the expertise of members through bilateral engagement for the greater cause of the international knowledge network.”

 ImageBeniamino Di Martino received the M.S. degree (magna cum laude) in Physics and the Ph.D. degree in Information Engineering, both from University of Naples (Italy), in 1992 and 1996 respectively.Since 2005 he is Full Professor at the Second University of Naples (Italy). In 1994 he joined the Institute for Software Technology and Parallel Systems at the University of Vienna (Austria) where he was researcher till 1998. In 1998 he moved at the Second University of Naples (Italy) where he was Assistant Professor till 2002, and Associate Professor till 2005. He has been scientific consultant for IBM Italia and ENEA (Italian National Agency for New Technology, Energy and the Environment).He is author of 5 international books and more than 100 publications in international journals and conferences. He participated to various research projects supported by national and international organizations (international projects include: EU-IST OntoWeb and APART, EU-Esprit HPF+ and PPPE, CEI PACT, EU-TMR, Austrian-SFB AURORA, Austrian FWF HLPS). He served as general and program chairman, and member in Program Committees, of several international conferences, and as guest editor for journals' special issues. He is editorial board member and chair of international journals.He is member of the Executive Board of the IEEE CS Technical Committee on Scalable Computing.His research interests include Mobile and Intelligent Agents, Semantic Web and Grid,Semantic based Information Retrieval and Text Mining, Natural Language Processing,Programming and Compiler Techniques for High Performance and Grid Computing, Parallel and Grid architectures, Automated Program Analysis, Comprehension and Transformation.  ImageDr. Li Jiang is currently a lecturer in School of Computer Science at the University Of Adelaide, Australia. Dr. Jiang got his Bachelor Degree of Software Engineering from Liaoning Shihua University, Master and PhD in software engineering from University of Calgary, Canada.  He has been a visiting scientist in University of Nottingham, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and University of Calgary in 1995, 1996, and 2000 respectively. Dr. Li Jiang had won several awards both in China and Canada including Canadian visiting fellowship from Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada. Dr. Li Jiang has extensive experiences working in Academic and industry. He served as senior lecturer in University of New Brunswick, Canada, and associate professor in Liaodong University, China. He had also worked in several companies in China. He has published more than 10 Journals papers, more than 40 conference papers, of which more than 20 are presented in international conference. Dr. Jiang has served as chair, co-chair, and committee member for many international conferences, as editorial board members, and reviewers for some international journals. Dr. Li Jiang’s major research interests are Requirements Engineering, Software Reuse, Intelligent Decision Support for Software Engineering, Software Agent System, and Software Process Engineering.

Image Thomas Kwok received his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from M.I.T. in 1976, 1978 and 1981 respectively. Since 1982, he has been a Research Staff Member in IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center, New York. His research interests include e-business, document management and information retrieval, 3D graphics and pervasive computing, SOA, Web services and Unified software engines, software architectures and reuse. He has published around 80 papers in refereed journals, conference proceedings and book chapters. He has been involved in more than 20 conferences, workshops and symposia as an organizer, chair, moderator, officer or technical committee member. He received the IEEE VMIC Best Paper Award in 1987. He has 18 patents issued in US and other countries, and another 13 patents pending in US. He is a member of IEEE, ACM and AAAS, Sigma Xi, Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu.

 

Image Tokuro Matuso (Ph.D, M.S, B.Edu) is working as an associate professor at Graduate School of Science and Engineering in Yamagata University since 2006. His current research interests include designs on Agent-mediated Electronic Commerce Support Systems, designs on e-Auction Protocols, Qualitative Reasoning and Simulations, e-Learning Support Systems and University Information Support Systems based on Information Reuse and Integrations. He received the Doctor degree of Engineering from Dept. of Computer Science at Nagoya Institute of Technology in 2006. He is a member of AAAI, IEEE, and several others. He is a conference chair / program chair of IEEE/ACIS ICIS 2010, ACIS SNPD 2009, ACIS IWEA 2009, IEEE/WIC/ACM ECBS 2009, ACNA 2009, IEEE IWEA 2008, ACAN 2008, IEEE IWEA 2007, IEEE PRIWEC 2006, RRS 2006, and RRS 2005. He is a principal investigator of Grant for Doctorate Receiver (C and C (NEC) Foundation, 2007-2008), Research grants for young researchers (Japan Ministry of Education, 2006-2008, 2009-2012), Research Grant (Japan Science Research Foundation, 2003-2004) and more than other 20 research grants in years past. .

 

Image Tony Shan a renowned expert working in the computing field for 20+ years with extensive experience on architecture engineering, technology strategies, and system designs in a number of multi-million dollar IT projects in a broad range of industries (finance/banking, telecommunications, mechanical engineering, aerospace, textile engineering, and government). He holds three advanced degrees in Engineering and Science majors, and is a Sun Certified Enterprise Architect & Java Programmer, and IBM Certified eBusiness Solution Designer. Having been involved in web technologies since the earliest Html, Java and .Net versions, he has, as an enterprise/solutions/chief architect, directed the lifecycle design and development of large-scale award-winning distributed systems on diverse platforms using a variety of cutting-edge technologies and unified/agile methodologies, such as Zachman Framework, TOGAF, RUP/EUP/OpenUP, E2AF, FEA, XP, MDA, CMMi, ITIL, COBIT, UML/SysML, SOA/EDA, BPM, Portal/Portlet, web services, SOAP/REST, ESB, EII, Ajax, and mashup. He has initiated advanced research on emerging computing technologies (grid computing, design patterns, frameworks, semantic web, machine learning, neural network, expert system, generic/immune algorithm, computer modeling/simulation, telephony/voice response, pervasive computing, and systems engineering automation), resulting in an invention patent and several patent-pending initiatives as well as many unified methodologies and platform models for adaptive system development. He has played a chief strategist role in leading establishing IT strategies and architecture blueprints, coupled with pragmatic technology roadmaps and enterprise architecture standards/policies, for IT governance and portfolio/asset management in Fortune 100 international organizations. He serves as a mentor/advisor on leading-edge technologies, architecture, and engineering in various technical committees and advisory boards, and teaches a wide variety of courses as an adjunct professor and professional trainer. In addition to dozens of top-notch technical publications, he has authored several books on asynchronous web services and heterogeneous business integration, and is working on multiple books on Internet technologies. He is a member of numerous professional associations and honorary society, a frequent speaker and Chair/Program Committee member in key conferences/workshops, an editor/editorial advisory board member of IT research journals & books, as well as a founder of Greater Charlotte Rational User Group and Charlotte Architecture & Technology Symposium.

 

Image  Feilong Tang received his Ph.D degree in Computer Science and Technology from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). From May 2004 to June 2005, he was a visiting researcher in the E-Business Technology Institute, the University of Hong Kong. Now, he works with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. From August 2007, he also was a visiting researcher in the University of Aizu, Japan. His research interests focus on software engineering, grid and pervasive computing, wireless sensor networks, computer network and distributed computing. Recently years, I have published more than 50 papers, reviewed no less than 300 papers for international journals and conferences. More specifically, I have reviewed papers submitted to IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing, International Journal of High Performance Computing Applications, IEEE Software, Information and Software Technology, Journal of Systems and Software, Journal of Computer Science and Technology, Journal of Software, Acta Electronica Sinica and so on.

 

Image Gregg Vesonder is Executive Director of the Communication Software Research Department at AT&T Labs-Research. He also is Adjunct Professor of Computer and Information Science at the University of Pennsylvania, and Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at Stevens Institute of Technology. Gregg Vesonder has developed and managed software systems supporting operations, e-commerce, sales support and data mining. He has been involved in software tool development for speech recognition, C++ compilers, artificial intelligence and software design and analysis. At Bell Labs Software Technology Center Gregg Vesonder served on software architecture review boards and focused on software process improvement using Object Oriented and agile process methodologies. He is both a Bell Labs and an AT&T fellow. Gregg Vesonder received a BA in psychology from the University of Notre Dame and an MS and PhD in cognitive psychology from the University of Pittsburgh

 

Image Lu Yan a Research Fellow at Department of Computer Science in University College London. Previously, he was with University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory, Department of Information Technologies in Abo Akademi, Distributed Systems Design Laboratory in Turku Centre for Computer Science (TUCS), and Institute of Microelectronics (IME) in Peking University.
